01 — The observation
Construction is India's second-largest industry. It runs on chaos.
India's construction and real estate sector contributes over 13% of GDP. It employs 50 million people. And yet the average mid-sized firm manages its entire operation through a web of disconnected tools, verbal instructions, and tribal knowledge held in the heads of a few senior people.
When those people leave, the knowledge walks out with them. When a site engineer calls in sick, nobody knows the material status. When a client wants an update, someone spends two hours pulling numbers from three different places.
02 — The gap
Existing software was built for someone else.
Enterprise ERPs like SAP cost ₹2–5 crore to implement and require six months of consulting just to go live. Western tools assume stable internet, office-based teams, and workflows that don't match how Indian firms actually operate.
There was nothing built from the ground up for a 50-person construction company in Bengaluru, or a real estate developer managing five projects in Hyderabad. Nothing that understood the GST structure, the contractor payment model, the daily site report culture, or the way procurement actually happens on the ground.
03 — The decision
So we built it ourselves.
VaasthuSuite was designed from first principles — by spending time on actual construction sites, talking to project managers, store keepers, contractors, and company owners. Every module reflects a real workflow. Every feature solves a real problem someone described to us in person.
We are building the operating system for civil and real estate operations — one that works offline on a site in rural Karnataka, and in the boardroom of a Mumbai developer, equally well.
